How Can We Save Energy By Using Led Lighting?
You might believe that halogen lights are at the top of the lighting tree when it comes to modern lighting, but you'd be mistaken because LED lighting today uses cutting-edge technology to create beautiful lighting effects.
They emit light instantly
and do not require "warming up" like low-energy light bulbs do before
emitting their full quantity of light. They are dimmable, and while they can
now produce a very good natural looking white light (earlier versions produced
a white light that many people found unnatural when compared to a regular
bulb), they can also be purchased in versions that produce a wide range of
colours, often all from the same light unit. The colours can be changed easily.
While the tremendous
versatility they provide when it comes to establishing the "Mood" of
a space cannot be disregarded as a vital benefit, where LED lighting truly
shines is in the significant cost savings it provides once the LED bulbs are
installed. This is because they only use ten percent of the energy that a
traditional bulb does. While they are more expensive to buy and install, the
significant energy savings they provide allow them to pay for themselves in a
matter of months.

Indeed, because of the
energy savings they provide, many large academic institutions, such as
universities, have installed them across their whole campus, yielding in
significant cost reductions.
They are also cold to the
touch, which means they produce only a fraction of the heat produced by a
halogen bulb. While this may not appear to be a cost-saving benefit, it is if
you have a room with a lot of lights. As an example, if your office has forty
or fifty 50W halogen lamps in the ceiling, this is the equivalent of a heating
impact of 2,000 to 2,500W, thus by decreasing this to virtually zero with LED
lighting, you save money by lowering your air conditioning expenditures. As a
result, utilising LED bulbs saves you money both directly and indirectly.
They also don't have the
same heat cycle issues as halogen bulbs, making them perfect for use with PIR
switches to turn on and off.
